This is a collaborative project that examines the hair salon as a symbolic interface where media, desire, and material culture converged in early-2000s China. Rather than reconstructing history, the work captures a mediated moment of embodiment—when television, MTV aesthetics, and synthetic commodities began extending the body into an electrified social space.
